Fisheries and Angling Consultatives are groups or organisations set up to represent the interests of anglers, angling clubs, and owners in specific catchment or geographical areas. Many groups are often known as ‘rivers or fisheries associations’.

What do we do?
Support local groups with information and representation at a national level. We take nothing for granted! We’re always looking for new ideas for safeguarding fisheries and angling! Our policies and actions are designed to tackle today’s problems in the most effective way like bird predation, abstraction, water quality, and access to waterspace.

Who can join?

Anybody with an interest in fisheries and angling. This includes fisheries management and all angling disciplines, whether barbel, carp, pike, trout and salmon, pleasure, specimen or match fishing, all have a need for effective representation and it is important that all interested individuals and organisations join us to help to ensure the future of our angling and our fisheries here are always opportunities for people to get involved in the work of Local Consultatives, Regional Consultatives and NAFAC
Like its member consultatives, NAFAC is currently a voluntary organisation. We do not have the means to employ people full time and we rely on the support of enthusiasts to do much of the work that's needed. The kind of people likely to make an impression at all levels of fisheries and angling representation and administration are those who care sufficiently about our natural environment and the sport as to spend their own time in become expert on particular issues or in running organisations.
Working with Local and Regional Consultatives
We are very keen to hear from anybody who would like to become involved with Local and Regional Consultatives. If you are interested in helping in this work, send us an e-mail with details of your interests, what you think you can contribute, and your contact details. We will be pleased to pass the information on to the appropriate Consultative.
NAFAC provides a comprehensive advice service covering a wide range of contemporary angling and fishery management issues.
