1. The Dove Catchment Fisheries Action Plan
As part of the pilot project a Fisheries Action Plan has been developed for the Dove catchment, corresponding to the existing LEAP area. All types of fishery are included in the process: coarse and game, stillwater, river and canal.
The process was started in December 2000 with the formation of a small focus group of local angling, landowner and conservation interests. The group drew up a list of issues, targets and actions relating to fisheries in the catchment, and the resulting draft action plan (click link at the bottom of the page to download a copy) was made available as widely as possible to fisheries interests in the catchment. Comments arising from this consultation were taken into account during the production of the final Dove Fisheries Action Plan, which was approved by the group in October 2002 (click link at the bottom of the page to download a copy).
