North West Region Fishery Action Plans (FAP index)
north west region map1.River Bollin and River Dean Fisheries Action Plan

This Fisheries Action Plan (FAP) has been developed as a partnership project between the Environment Agency and representatives of fisheries interests, significant riparian owners and other interested bodies within the River Bollin and River Dean catchments. It aims to identify all issues which impinge on riverine and stillwater fisheries, especially those affecting water quality, flow and habitat.

The document summarises each issue, identifies targets and lays out a plan of action that seeks to address these issues in order of priority. Each issue will have a sponsor who will chiefly be responsible for furthering the actions raised by the programme, however the contributions made by all partners will be essential to the successful implementation of the plan.

Whilst efforts have been made to timetable the various actions, progress will largely depend on available resources. The timescales will be reviewed regularly and a programme of actions, which can be funded, will be published each year.

Delivery of this plan will help to achieve agreed objectives for the catchment and will bring tangible benefits to fisheries and other interests.
